|Year Two brings additional exciting opportunities and responsibilities. Children have daily numeracy and literacy which include regular reading opportunities including individual, whole class and guided group sessions. The curriculum is enhanced by cross curricular topics, such as: The Ancient Greeks and Famous People|
|The children continue to benefit from specialist teachers in French, PE and Music. Our curriculum is enhanced by a variety of trips and visitors, such as a trip to London as part of our History work, an excursion to a local fire station and the local memorial As part of our links with the Junior part of the school, Year Two get involved in the School Council and have more of their lessons in the Junior block.|
A typical day in the life of an Infant
0800 School Opens. Early morning care is available at Kids Club.
0840 Most children arrive.
0855 Mrs Chester will take Year 2 class register.
0900 Assembly with Mrs Ogden.
0930-1030 Literacy Lesson.
1030-1050 Playtime & Snack.
1050-1150 Numeracy: we do fun maths games.
1150-1220 Reading one to one with teachers and helpers.
1220-1320 Lunch: We have our freshly prepared lunch in the dining hall or a packed lunch if we prefer.
We are all expected to use good table manners.
1320-1420 Science. We do hands on exploring and investigating.
1420-1450. ICT lesson up in the ICT suite on seperate computers.
1450 -1520 History lesson.
1520 Home Time. We say ‘Good Afternoon’ to our teacher. Then we either go home, or to a club or
