| "Enjoy the journey, enjoy every moment, and quit worrying about winning and losing" Matt Biondi, Olympic swimming champion.
At Ayscoughfee Hall School we believe that the years in the School represent a key window for athletic development. Our focus is for children to develop their skills and competitive experiences in a progressive manner in order to enjoy a lifelong participation in sport. From the early years of developing the ABC’s of athleticism (agility, balance and co-ordination), to the application of specific sports skills in a competitive match, we hope that sport at Ayscoughfee Hall School never loses its sense of fun and enjoyment and we encourage all children to participate to reach their full potential.
|At the core are team-sports, and an ethos in which competition is embraced by children of all abilities. The opportunity to contribute to a team engenders a sense of identity and pride in the school. In addition, Ayscoughfee Hall School provides breadth and excellence in coaching with Specialist teaching staff for PE and Games. Children take part in fixtures against other schools on Wednesday afternoons.
Pupils from Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 have the opportunity to swim during the year. Extra curricular clubs are run after school for tag rugby, netball, cross country, football, rounders, cricket and multi skills.
People who enjoy what they are doing invariably do it well; this is the bedrock of the sporting programme at Ayscoughfee Hall School.
