World Book Day
Ayscoughfee Hall School celebrated World Book Day this week with everyone dressing up as their favourite book character. Reading is such an important part of education, and the children were given lots of opportunities throughout the day to develop their love of books. During the day, the children were able to spend time reading with their friends, some even went along to other classes to share books with children in different year groups. A special quiz was devised, to test the children’s knowledge of different books they have read, and Year 6 children began work on writing books of their own. Our Kindergarten children have been learning about Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and even sneaked up to the staff room to see what it would be like to eat their porridge whilst sitting in a teacher’s chair!
A really fun day in school to emphasise the importance of a good read.
