Year 2 and Year 4 London Trip
Year 2 and Year 4 were blessed with perfect weather when they and their parents went to London. The long-awaited trip (in the case of Year 4 a VERY long-awaited trip!) started at the Museum of London where the children were able to see original paintings from the time of the Great Fire of London, genuine fire buckets and hooks and a selection of objects unearthed by archaeologists that had survived the fire, such as a Bible and wall tiles. From there they walked to St Paul’s Cathedral, the Monument and Pudding Lane (cue an impromptu performance of ‘London’s Burning’) and finally down to the River Thames to see London Bridge and the site of the warehouses which exploded due to the fire and their contents of oil, wine and brandy. The children showed incredible stamina and were a pleasure to be with.
