Year 6 Visit To The South Holland District Council
Year 6 visited the Council Chamber at South Holland District Council as part of our work for UK Parliament week. They learnt about the voting process and the role Councillors play in local government. Before the visit the children formed their own political parties, decided upon policies and drew up manifestos. They also elected a leader for each party. At the Council Chambers each leader presented their manifesto; everyone, including the local councillors, then voted for the party they thought should win.
