- Ayscoughfee Hall School
With the opening of the new extension, Ayscoughfee Hall School’s facilities are now greatly improved. The addition of a new multi-purpose hall, changing rooms, music room and music practice rooms, plus new and improved classroom and cloakroom areas has increased the extra curricular activities we are able to offer as well as ensuring that the children have the best facilities at their disposal. After School Clubs over the next year will include art, craft, poetry, drama, cross country, hockey, football, netball, rugby, rounders and individual music tuition. Latin and Russian will also be available.
As members of the Independent Schools’ Association we participate in a range of academic and sporting events regionally and nationally which benefit the children enormously.
We also take part in a range of competitve local sporting events each term against Maintained and Independent schools across South Holland. The most recent of these, the Spalding Tag Rugby Festival, was on Tuesday 11th November - and we ran out the winners! Indeed, not only did we finish as Champions, our team of year 4,5 and 6 boys and girls went through the day as winners of every game. A really creditable performance as every other team they played consisted of only the two older year groups. Well done!
The children also did themselves proud in the last few weeks with their fundraising in support of Breast Cancer. The Pink Day Cake Sale donated a commendable £275 to the cause. Now for Children in Need!
Perhaps the most notable event in the term so far has been our participation in the ISA Regional Art Competition. Entering for the first time, our whole school mosaic submission "Spalding Riverside Scenes" won the category.
The year 6 visit to the Galleries of Justice in Nottingham was also a great success. As well as hearing the fascinating history attached to the building, the girls and boys (and staff) were able to role play a number of trials. This enabled the pupils to grasp the desperate conditions and harsh treatment suffered by the poor and needy who got on the wrong side of the law not so long ago in our history.
Any parents wishing to register their children at the School are advised to do so as soon as possible, as places are taken up quite quickly.
